A week in San Diego (April 2025)

I’ve been in San Diego all week, first visiting a few gardens, then attending the 2025 Biennial Convention of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America (CSSA) – four jam-packed days of garden tours and talks from world-renowned experts. It’s been a tiring week, but in a good way. I’ll have more posts in the weeks to come, but here’s a quick teaser of what I’ve seen so far.

I’ve met some really interesting people, and I’ve also done a little bit of plant shopping. OK, more than a little, but in my defense, some of the plants I’m bringing home are for other people.

More on this very soon!

    1. Every garden I visited (and this is often the case) was inspiring in its own way.

    1. This was the first time I've ever gone to a CSSA Convention. It was even better than I had expected. The tours were great, but so were the presentations. But the best thing was finally meeting some of my "heroes."

The next convention (2027) will be in Tucson, by the way.

    2. Well, I might get to that one! I went to one in LA a few years ago and really enjoyed it and the tours.
