2023 Sacramento Cactus & Succulent Society Show & Sale, May 5–7, 2023

This weekend, May 5–7, 2023, the Sacramento Cactus and Succulent Society (SCSS) will hold its annual Show & Sale at Shepard Garden and Arts Center in Sacramento’s McKinley Park. This is the 63rd Annual Show & Sale; I believe the only year to be skipped was 2020.

In the past, the show was judged by experts in the field. This year, there will be a non-judged exhibition showcasing the immense variety of cacti and succulents. Club members at all levels are encouraged to enter their best plants. The organizers are hoping for a great show with hundreds of immaculately grown succulents.

The biggest draw will be the sales area. Since the show is on a smaller scale this year, there will be extra room for sale tables. 21 vendors will be selling plants and pottery—a new record. Many are familiar faces, but there will also be several vendors who are making their Sacramento debut. Here’s the complete list:

With so many vendors, visitors are sure to find something new and exciting to buy, whether they’re into cacti, succulents, caudiciforms, or carnivorous plants.

Five pottery vendors, a new record, will bring a large variety of pots in all price ranges.

The event will be held at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, at the north end of McKinley Park.

Hours:

Friday, May 5: 1 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, May 6: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m

Sunday, May 7: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission and parking are free. Be sure to follow the parking restrictions to avoid getting a ticket.
