NorCal plant sales, Spring 2011

Spring is plant sale time in Northern California. I love scouting for unusual plants, and these events are perfect for finding plants regular nurseries don’t carry.

In an effort to keep track of all the sales that are happening in the next few months, I decided to compile a list that will be easy to refer to. If you know of any sales I didn’t include, please let me know and I will add them.

3/26/11 – 3/27/11	Sacramento	Perennial plant sale AIDS charity sale of perennials propagated by Sacramento horticulturist Robert Hamm ✔ Parking structure behind The Gifted Gardener, 18th and J streets, Saturday & Sunday 9:00am – 5:00pm. ✔ The sale will benefit the Sunburst Projects for children and families living with HIV and AIDS. ✔ Robert Hamm’s plant sales are great. Lots of variety and reasonable prices. Plants are typically in 4-inch containers. We have bought many plants from Robert Hamm over the years and they have thrived. UPDATE: Robert Hamm just canceled his 3/26-3/27 plant sale. He says, “Due to the wet, cold weather, too many of the plants are still dormant.and we have not been able to get out and clean and label them.”
3/26/11 – 3/27/11	Sacramento	Shepard Garden and Arts Center Spring sale. More than 40 clubs. Plants, books, accessories. Expert gardening advice. 10:00am – 4:00pm each day. ➜ Click here for directions.
